What kind of grease is better for TITAN semitrailer ?

Grease is one of the essential lubricating media on our TITAN truck trailer. But there are many kinds of grease, which can also cause early damage to the trailer. Today, we simply introduce the types of grease used in our trucks trailer and how to choose them.


There are 3 kinds of grease used in common use:


Albany grease:

The biggest feature of calcium based grease is yellow. This grease is used on trucks trailer early.Because the calcium base grease is made of lubricating oil made of movable, vegetable oil and lime, the best working temperature is -10 C ~60 C, and its disadvantage is that it will be hydrolyzed when it is 100 degrees C, then it loses its lubrication, so the calcium base grease has been used in the car. The better stability of the lithium base grease is replaced.


General purpose Lithium Base Grease:

It is a kind of lithium based grease, its characteristics are water resistance, mechanical stability, good rust resistance, and its application temperature is more extensive, the temperature range of -20 C ~120 C can meet the lubrication demand. The saddle, the universal joint and the plane bearing of the steering knuckle on the semi trailer are suitable for the general lithium base lubrication. Grease, usually used in the parking lot, is the grease used to grease the chassis. However, because of its temperature resistance still can not meet the requirements of the hub, which requires another lithium grease to play.


Wonder EP Li:

Extreme pressure lithium base grease is the commonly known high temperature grease. It is characterized by the ability to ensure lubricity at 160 degrees centigrade. For semi trailer hub bearings that need to operate at high temperature, high speed, and extreme pressure, the General purpose Lithium Base Grease is difficult to meet the wheel hub bearing requirements because the General purpose Lithium Base Grease will be in it. High temperature environment causes grease separation to lose lubrication, so Wonder EP Li is the best choice.



How do I choose the grease marks?


The marking of grease is determined by the value of cone penetration. The greater the cone penetration, the thinner the grease is, the thicker it is. In a simple way, the number 1 is thin and the number 3 is thick. Now we basically use grease No. 2 and No. 3 on trucks trailer. The choice of grease is the same as that of our choice of trucks or semitrailer . We must choose according to our actual operation lines to maximize the effect.Let's take an example of Shell Gadus series grease. Generally speaking, the Shell Gadus S2 grease can be used for the drivers who have long been in the standard and the daily line is plain, because the drivers running under the above conditions are more suitable for using this S2 grease from the convenience of filling and reducing the friction resistance.

The driver that we often run in mountain areas requires frequent use of brake, and the heat generated by the brake drum will pass to the hub, making the hub bearing temperature rising greatly, often over 120 degrees centigrade. From the point of view of ensuring lubrication, our drivers in mountainous areas are more suitable for using the grease of Gadus S3.
